What’s the cheapest, easiest way to record audio onto my computer?

My friend and I are recording a simple song and making a video for it for a language arts project. We’re using Guitar Pro 5 for the drum and bass tracks, but we want to actually record the guitar and vocal tracks, and we don’t really have any way to do this. Could we just buy a special microphone or something, or do we need a whole desktop interface? We really don’t care about the sound quality or anything, we just want to get the thing done by tuesday.
