What’s the best book for learning about computer and computer hardware which covers topics in-depth?
So I’m 15 years old and lately I have become fascinated with computers. I am interested in learning about computers and the hardware which they accommodate. I want to become a professional when it comes to computers. I might even possibly consider a career in computer engineering if I am able to amount vast quantities of knowledge about computers. As you can see, this can determine my future career and any help is appreciated. I want to buy a book which covers graphics cards (or graphics processing units), CPU’s, ram, power supplies, hard drives, motherboards, BIOS, etc. Basically everything about computers and computer hardware. I also want the book to be detailed about the topics and provide in-depth information which would bring me close to being a professional. I know a bit about computers but I am hungry for more knowledge. The more the better. Please give any suggestion of books. Also, any suggestions on good computer magazines is appreciated, as I want to subscribe to one. =)
I do not know if you are familar with Comptia’s A+ certification or not. But it is a certification test that covers computer hardware and the basics of the Windows Operating System. If you take this test and pass it, you are considered a Computer Hardware Professional. Look on amazon.com for “A+ certification study guide” and you will find tons of books that will be a great help. I personally used “A+ Certification For dummies” to study for my A+ test. It was very indepth and was a help to me.
