Can u use a linksys wireless router without a computer lanned to it?
I know that when u hav to connect the modem to the router and the router to a computer, but does the computer hav to connect to the router through a lan cable? The linksys has like a main lan cable port that u hav to plug into ur main computer. can i unplug it if my computer is wireless? thnx
If you can scan for wireless networks in range and find your router (judging by your level of question I will assume you have not changed any of the internal settings of the router) you’ll probably find an unsecured network named Linksys. Connect to this and you won’t need the cable.
However I recommend you look into securing your wireless network through WEP at least if not WPA. All this information can be found in the manual for the wireless router or online at www.linksys.com
