Why does my computer say “CPU FAN ERROR”?
I just finished sleeving the power supply. The fan used to start loudly but quiet down, now it just run full blast.

There is nothing wrong with the fan. It’s a new fan and I tried two different fan with the same effect. Something is wrong with the computer. Is the blue wire touching the black for that effect?
i doubt if it is a wiring issue, that usually results in a short circuit a puff of smoke and lots of bad language.
I would suggest the issue is in your BIOS settings. In the BIOS the fan is either set to be “on” all the time or the temperature settings are too low and the fan is running at full speed trying to cool the processor to the set temperature. Increase the temp to something higher and the fan should run at full speed for a few seconds and then run slower as before.
